Kris was born in Bangor and grew up in Lincoln. In the eighth grade, his mother and stepfather moved he and his sisters to Texas. He returned to Maine for his junior and senior years of high school at Mattanawcook Academy, where he graduated in 1991. He spent his first year of college at the University of Maine at Augusta as a music major until he realized he didn’t really want to be a music teacher – he wanted to be in a band.
Kris moved back to Texas and attended college in San Marcos, near Austin, the live music capital of the world. He spent 10 years in a band playing music full time, making albums and touring throughout the Southwest. In 2009, he returned to Maine and started working for his father at Gateway Title as an abstractor and closing agent. He then attended college for Information Technology, which is one of his many jobs. Kris lives in Lincoln with his wife Alycia and their daughter Georgianna.
